Alei Tzion is one of the fastest growing Modern Orthodox Jewish communities outside of Israel. This community required a website that would serve their religious needs, attract more people and provide innovations to assist daily operations.
The majority of people interested in the Alei Tzion website were in general under the age of 35 and highly web-savvy. A well crafted website could separate Alei Tzion from other British communities as it could use the web to recruit young families already online, in a drive to expand its membership.
I placed a huge focus on the user experience, not just making the site easy to use, but also transforming the website into a tool that enriched community members' lives. Times of worship were simplified, content was delivered by an XML CMS, members received weekly announcements via the site and email, while a meal exchange was built that partnered participants with a place to eat over the Jewish Sabbath; ensuring no member of the community was left alone on this sacred day.
